Codes and conventions of a school magazine – Jazz Doughty.
1.      An appropriate magazine name.
2.      Relevant text to attract the target audience.
3.      A picture that is relevant and not pixelated or blurred.
4.      A colour scheme that is kept so that everything ties in together to look smart
5.      A readable font.
6.      Not too much text on front – simple, attention grabbing rhetorical questions or statements.
7.      Games for the younger readers.
8.      Not a lot of free space.
9.      Humour, most people would be more willing to buy one if it was going to be funny.
10.  Sticks to the rules of age-appropriate content and is respectful and not going to offend or upset anyone within the school community.
11. Clear layout, not too cluttered or too sparse.
12. All content is truthful, honest and decent.
13. Photographs should be relevant to the inside content.
